Tires
Tires are one of the most important components of a vehicle since they are only point of contact your vehicle has to the ground. Tires are filled with compressed air to provide traction between the vehicle and the road which allow the vehicle to accelerate, stop and turn. Tires support the weight of the vehicle and reduce the impact from the road at the same time.
What can go wrong?
Overtime, tires will begin to wear out and being exposed to road debris and potholes can cause a flat or a tire blowout unexpectedly. Slow leaks can also occur, damaging the tire's rim which may lead to an expensive repair.
What can you do?
Make sure each tire is properly inflated (including the spare) to the correct PSI (pounds per square inch) to avoid unnecessary flats. It's also a good idea to rotate your tires every so often to ensure there is no uneven wear. Check your owner's manual for when you should be rotating your tires and seek attention from a service advisor if any leaks or other damages occur.
