If you own an older model Honda, you can still take advantage of this feature. Siri Eyes Free is available for installation at your preferred Honda dealer, Castle Honda. Applicable models include all 2013 Accords, 2014 Accord Sedan EX-L and newer, and 2014 Accord Coupe EX and above.
Siri Eyes Free Mode Capabilities
The Siri Eyes Free feature allows a more personalized integration experience between your Siri-equipped cellphone and your vehicle's Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system. Aside from being able to use acquainted in-vehicle voice commands, you can also dictate Siri-related instructions. Use Siri as you ordinarily would with your iPhone, for features such as:
- Setting up calendar entries, reminders, and alarms
- Checking the weather
- Sending and reading text messages aloud
- Finding nearby points of interest or restaurants
- Posting to social media sites
- Turn by turn directions
Get Started With Siri Eyes Free
Before you can use Siri Eyes Free in your Honda, you must pair your Siri-equipped phone when the vehicle is in Park. Once your car is safely parked, follow the below-listed instructions to start using this feature:
- Pair your cellphone to Bluetooth. Begin the pairing process by ensuring your Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and set to discoverable.
- Press SETTINGS on the Home Menu. Then press PHONE settings.
- Press the CONNECT PHONE option.
- Once paired, press the TALK button, which can be found on your Honda steering wheel, for 2-3 seconds to initiate Siri. You should then hear the Siri chime.
- When prompted, give your command or ask a question to Siri the same way you would if you were using your iPhone. You will hear Siri's response through your vehicle's audio system.
How Siri Eyes Free Works
The Siri Eyes Free feature lets you send requests to Siri without ever having to hold your iPhone. Any requests that include visual feedback from Siri on your phone are not displayed on your vehicle screen. You will only hear an audio response. You can send commands such as "Call Bob Smith," "Read my new text message," "Send an email to John," "find a nearby Sushi restaurant," or "Get directions to Mary's house" without ever taking your focus off the road ahead.
